“I don’t need a lot of time or money to be blissfully happy …”

Are you a nice person? Do you ever do nice things for other people? Bring them a gift? Say something uplifting? Of course you do! BUT, what do you do to be nice to YOU?

As a mom, I struggle with finding time to do even the most basic tasks for me, let alone being “nice”! Fortunately, another nice person, Holli Rovenger, “The  Enthroned Empress”, has come to my rescue! Holli has taken the time to craft an amazing and uplifting series of “Blissful Suggestions” that help me to see that caring for me does not have to be all or nothing!

How life altering it is to be reminded that true bliss can come from a smile, a walk in the park or a quick nap! While Holli also recommends more indulgent pursuits such as a massage or seeing a show, it is the joy-invoking activities such as dancing in your own house or connecting with an old friend that were a wakeup call for me!  I don’t need a lot of time or money to be blissfully happy.

Holli will touch your heart and lovingly support you to be more loving to yourself!

I look forward to these daily affirmations so much …

Holli is a great motivator and a positive thinker. She shares a wealth of ideas and helpful suggestions pertaining to increasing women’s self-esteem and confidence. She creatively uses tools such as video clips, quotations, blogs, a website, emails, etc. to get across her message of empowering women to be their best selves. Her topics and the tips she provides are always interesting and varied; examples include healthy eating, recipes, finances, pampering oneself, fashion, etc. I’ve been reading her “blissful moment” emails for the past two weeks and have found myself waking up in the mornings excitedly wondering what new topic Holli will have in store.

I look forward to these daily affirmations so much.

I have incorporated several of her ideas into my own life which has made me feel better about myself. I thoroughly enjoy the uplifting quotations she shares on Facebook; with each one I read I find myself wanting to “pay it forward” or “give back” as what Holli is doing for others. Even more inspirational is the fact that Holli is going through a divorce. Instead of wallowing in self-pity over the cards dealt to her, she has chosen to make lemonade out of lemons. Drawing upon her own experiences, she has chosen a personal mission involving empowering women to take control of their lives, finances, health, and overall well-being. I wouldn’t be surprised if one day Holli Rovenger lands in one of those top ten lists in a popular magazine featuring women who are making a difference in the lives of others.

Thank you Holli for being a positive influence in my life!

the type of conversation you’d have with a very good friend or your sister …”

In a breezy, conversational style, the type of conversation you’d have with a very good friend or your sister, Holli Rovenger, in her book, Little Black Book of Sassy Suggestions (first edition), reminds us that we need to take care of ourselves first, and be “nice to us” at all times. Her suggestions, for the most part, are things women should take for granted, like having manicures and pedicures, taking long walks on the beach or in parks, having dinner with a good friend, or exercising to move our sedentary selves. However, busy women forget to carve out the niche they need for themselves and Holli’s book is the best reminder. Being nice to yourself doesn’t mean excluding others, but everyone needs that little push to remind her that she is special. And, of course ladies, if we don’t push each other, who will?

I found myself nodding to her suggestions, and thinking, “Well, yes, that’s a great idea—I love doing that.” My take-away moment was her “walk on the beach” page. That’s my favorite thing to do, outside of her other cultural suggestions to go see live theater (my real passion). Then I realized that I haven’t been to the beach in over two years! So, I am buying Holli’s other book: Simple and Sassy Guide to Financial Empowerment, and putting it in my beach bag and taking it with me this weekend to the beach! So grab Holli’s book and find all the ways you can help yourself have a better day, week, month, year, life. Be good to yourself, ladies.
